Landscaping architect is a professional person. Anyone with a passion for plants and their use through design can become a landscaping architect. What does it need to becomes a successful
landscaping architect?
It is really hard to define such qualities but once you know what a landscaping
architect does and his scope of work, you can easily come up with what qualities are
needed to be successful in this profession.
As an landscaping architect you will have to perform all on any one of the following activities.

1) Designing landscaping areas
2) Redesigning or renovation existing landscapes
3) Giving suggestions on regional scale public parks
4) Maintaining landscaped gardens
So anything that deals with gardens and plants and their usability from architectural point of view is required from a landscaping architect. Apart from just imagination a
landscaping architect must have a knowledge of the some of the following skills.
1) Sketching skills for giving fast presentations
2) Knowledge of commonly used local landscaping materials with their costs.
3) Capacity to generate unique ideas
4) A little knowledge of how other architectural systems work. For example electrical system/drainage
system/plumbing system. All these are sometimes required in garden if you have water ponds, swimming pools, fountains etc.
5) A little capacity to read human nature. This will help if you are going to deal with individual clients. This skill can be developed overtime.
Where can you learn about landscaping?
There are many online courses available or you can enquire in the local universities
or colleges about full time or part time degrees. There are even correspondence courses available for
distant learning.
