Home yard Landscaping Ideas
When it comes to landscaping of home yard two spaces obviously come to our mind.
1) The front yard
2) The Backyard.
There are different considerations for landscaping of both these spaces. Simply because their function is altogether different.
Let's have a look at them one by one.
1) The Front Yard -
The front yard on any house can have public access and and vehicular movement depending upon how the home building is located in the plot.
Because of this it is a good idea to use a combination of hard and soft landscaping. By hard landscaping I mean paving patters using concrete
tiles or brick paving that will merge with the overall color theme of the external faces of the house.
This will create a great looking and welcoming front yard. Seasonal flowering shrubs can be used along the pathways as welcoming feature and can guide the
visual balance.
2) The Back Yard
The backyard of any house on the other hand is much private place and demands privacy. In
most house plans the backyard may include a small swimming pool, playing are for kids, small
patio for family get together. There is plenty of room for creativity here.
With little creativity you can create a small cycle track for kids with
semi-covered sheds, a fishpond with a small fountain, if the budget and the space permits. If the
backyard is a
compact place then curved pathways can be used. The curved pathways create an illusion
of more length, hence more space.
Artificial lighting along the pathways or the compound wall can enhance the use of the backyard during night times as well.
