|
Do It Yourself Landscaping... Landscaping is an art in itself. When you are trying to grow a garden on your own, there are many things you need to prepare first, so that you can avoid problems in future. The best way to go about "do it yourself landscaping" is to educate yourself first. There are following areas that need to be addressed by the home owner. Designing and growing a garden on your own need not be difficult, but only if you organize the entire task into a few questions and answers. Gardening and landscaping on your own can be an easy process if you plan it accordingly by asking or creating a sort of FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) 1) What's the purpose of my garden? 2) When it gets finished, how many persons will use it? 3) Is it a personal garden or will be used to organize a small party for your family members/business colleagues. Once you have finalized the function of your garden you can now go about creating primary sketches about layout of garden, position of plants, soft landscaping areas, hard landscaping areas (such as paving, pathways, etc). You will require a basic knowledge of landscaping materials required (such as which is the best garden compost) and enquire a little about is this material (including plants) available in you local market. If not do you have to order this material from other cities etc. Depending upon this small survey you will have to decide your final project budget. While starting out the garden first note down the basic schedule of execution such as 1) Cleaning the entire garden area. 2) Creating an outline of soft and hard landscaping area on garden first (using chalk powder) 3) Pointing out the electricity lines for the electrician to lay necessary cables. 4) If the garden has a fishpond or fountain then locating its position and the water supply pipeline. In this way you can easily continue to go about writing out many points and create a schedule of execution which can speed up the process of growing your dream garden in days.
