Brick is a very common and popular building material. from long time brick is a standard construction material used for architectural building.

Why is brick so popular?

That's because building construction with brick is fast and easy. You hardly need any technical knowledge for using brick construction methods. Another advantage is brick has a great natural color, which enables to use brick in it's exposed form as well. Many buildings built with exposed faces without plaster look great and merge easily with landscape surrounding the building.

That's why brick landscaping ideas can be used to create a wonderful landscaped garden easily. Let's have a look at some of the probable brick landscaping ideas.

1) Flowerbed walls - If you garden has raised flowerbeds, then the actual bed where the flowering plants will grow, are easy to construct with brick. A planting plan can be used as a guideline for construction of such flowerbeds.

Sometimes the planting plan may have curved flowerbeds. At such times it is easy to construct a flowerbed wall with bricks. Such brick wall can be plastered fro outside for painting if required.

2) curbing - The ending edges of walkways or pathways can be very well defined using vertical standing bricks. Again curbing for curved pathways can also be done using this bricks.

3) Building a patio - If your garden has a patio, then the entire structural system of the brick can be constructed using bricks.

4) Terrace gardening with low slopes - If your garden has a sloped area with a small tilt, then you will have to create a retaining wall to retain the soil from eroding. For such cases a retaining wall with bricks can save a lot of cost. However if the slope of the land is too steep, then you will have to go for a retaining wall with stones or rocks to sustain the soil pressure from top level courses.

5) Pathways and walkways - One of the very creative use of brick is to use it fro paving pathways and walkways. Interesting paving patterns can also be created using brick. you can use brick at 45 degrees angle to create a wonderful flooring pattern.

6) Grill like patterns - This is not a very common way of using brick in landscaping. This will create a short opening after every brick is placed. Continue this till top of the wall and you get a beautiful grill like structure easily.
